Early Life and Career
Adam Bennett Schiff (born June 22, 1960) is an American attorney, author, and politician who currently serves as the U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. He previously represented California's 29th congressional district from 2001 to 2013.
Political Journey
Schiff is a member of the Democratic Party and has served in the House of Representatives for 12 terms. He is a senior member of the House Intelligence Committee and has been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump. In 2024, Schiff announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat held by Dianne Feinstein.
Schiff's political career began in Burbank, California, where he served on the City Council from 1999 to 2001. He then ran for Congress in 2000 and was elected to the House of Representatives.
