Liverpool's Title Hopes Dented by West Ham Draw
Salah and Bowen Trade Goals in Premier League Clash
Liverpool's Premier League title hopes took a blow on Saturday, April 27, 2024, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham United at Anfield.
Liverpool had taken the lead through Mohamed Salah's left-footed shot from the center of the box, but West Ham equalized through Jarrod Bowen's strike. Liverpool then regained the lead through a Curtis Jones goal, but Michail Antonio's late header ensured a share of the spoils for the visitors.
The result leaves Liverpool four points behind league leaders Manchester City with just six games remaining. Liverpool will now need to win all of their remaining matches and hope that City drop points if they are to retain their Premier League crown.
West Ham, meanwhile, moved up to 11th place in the table with the draw. Bowen has now scored 16 Premier League goals this season, making him the club's top scorer in the competition.
Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of the draw when they travel to Newcastle United on Wednesday, May 3. West Ham, meanwhile, will host Crystal Palace on the same day.
